1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve functionality, and provide analytics information. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data locally in your browser.
2. How Conversent Uses Storage
Conversent uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your authentication session. This is strictly necessary for the platform to function.

3. Third-Party Services
Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies or similar tracking technologies. When you use Google sign-in or payment processing, these third parties may set cookies on your device before or during your interaction. In the EU/EEA, such cookies may require your consent under the ePrivacy Directive. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services:
- Google OAuth — if you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies as part of the authentication flow. Google's Privacy Policy

4. Analytics
At this time, Conversent does not use third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). We may collect anonymised usage statistics internally without using third-party tracking. If this changes, we will update this policy and notify you in advance.
5. Your Choices
Since we rely only on technically necessary localStorage entries (not third-party tracking cookies), no cookie consent banner is currently required for our own storage. Note: If you use Google sign-in or payment features, those third-party services set their own cookies — see Section 3 for details. However, you can:
- Clear localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings
- Use your browser's incognito/private mode to prevent persistent storage
- Log out of Conversent — this clears the authentication token
Note: clearing your authentication token will log you out of the platform.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change how we use storage or add new third-party services. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform.
