1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve functionality, and provide analytics information. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data locally in your browser.
2. How Conversent Uses Storage
Conversent uses browser localStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your authentication session. This is strictly necessary for the platform to function.

3. Third-Party Services
Some third-party services we use may set their own cookies or similar tracking technologies. When you use Google sign-in or payment processing, these third parties may set cookies on your device before or during your interaction. In the EU/EEA, such cookies may require your consent under the ePrivacy Directive. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services:

4. Analytics
Conversent uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on your device. These are not strictly necessary, so they are blocked until you give consent through our cookie banner — the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all beforehand. If you decline, these cookies are never set and no analytics data is collected about your visit. The cookies used are:
- _ga — distinguishes individual visitors. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id> — maintains session state for a given property. Duration: 2 years.

Conversent also uses Sentry for error monitoring and session replay, which we rely on to diagnose faults and protect the security and reliability of the platform. Session replays are recorded with all text, input fields and media masked.
5. Your Choices
When you first visit our website we show a cookie consent banner. Non-essential cookies — including Google Analytics — stay blocked until you accept them, and declining is a single click. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the privacy trigger badge on our website, which reopens the consent settings; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Note: if you use Google sign-in or payment features, those third-party services set their own cookies — see Section 3. In addition, you can:
- Clear localStorage at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings
- Use your browser's incognito/private mode to prevent persistent storage
- Log out of Conversent — this clears the authentication token
Note: clearing your authentication token will log you out of the platform. Strictly necessary storage (see Section 2) cannot be switched off, as the platform cannot function without it.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change how we use storage or add new third-party services. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform.
